Managing Director - Joshua Norrid

 

 

Joshua Norrid is one of our co-founders and a Managing Director at Elemental Methods. He serves as our Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for leading our technology practice, the development of the Elemental Technology Framework and the establishment of architectural approaches and technology platforms for the solutions we implement across our diverse customer base. Mobile, Social, Cloud, Big-Data/Analytics, SOA, Event-Based systems and Agile Software Engineering are his areas of expertise. Mr. Norrid previously served as the Chief Technology Officer for Solution Strategy at Progress Software. In his role at Progress Software, he coordinated work across the sales, marketing, training, and software engineering teams worldwide to create industry-specific solutions to enable travel and transportation customers to become more operationally responsive. He also participated heavily in business development, strategic merger and acquisition due diligence and competitve analysis within the global enterprise software and solutions market. 

With nearly twenty years of broad and deep leadership experience, Mr. Norrid has consulted in diverse business and technology environments across nearly all segments of the travel and transportation industry. Focusing on the pragmatic application of technology to solve business problems, he places equal weight on the value of technical expertise and having a rock-solid business case that leads to value creation, process improvement and customer satisfaction.

Prior to the founding of Elemental Methods LLC, Mr. Norrid also led the Application and Data Architecture Team at Southwest Airlines, where he served in a multitude of senior technology leadership roles. His direct responsibilities at Southwest included the leadership of teams across SOA Frameworks and Tools, Enterprise Portal and Collaboration Services, Security and Compliance, Software Configuration Management and Build Automation, and Database Architecture and Administration. Additionally, Mr. Norrid built and led the Architecture Working Group (AWG) at Southwest, which was charged with maintaining the strategic technology platform for Southwest’s enterprise application portfolio.

Before joining Southwest Airlines, Mr. Norrid was Managing Consultant at IBM Global Services in the Travel and Transportation Industry Practice. In this role, he identified, developed, and implemented strategic software and hardware solutions for a multitude of travel-related organizations around the globe.
